Experienced Photographer Wanted

Portland Story Theater is in search of an experienced photographer to help out our non-profit arts organization. This person would be responsible for capturing images of live storytelling shows, primarily for Facebook and mobile viewing.

Job Type This is an independent contractor position based in Portland, Oregon. You would be sharing the responsibility with our other photographer to cover 1 or 2 shows per month

Compensation Flat Fee (Amount depending on experience)

Primary Responsibilities
Create engaging, professional, and stylistic photos for online viewing and occasional print
Manage media and assets
Collaborate with founders
Maintain a positive and productive attitude
Own and operate own equipment
Post photos in timely fashion to Facebook as well as providing originals for Portland Story Theater backup

Mandatory Qualifications
Have your own camera
Ability to photograph in low lighting without flash
Ability to manipulate ISO, White Balance, Aperture, and Speed settings
Knowledge of post-production touch up techniques and cropping
Reliable and On Time
Live in the greater Portland, Oregon area
Transportation to theater (generally first Friday of the month)
Must have excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Flexible, dedicated, and ready to work (and have fun)
Genuine interest and appreciation for storytelling
Willing to share schedule with our other photographer, typically alternating every other show

Preferred Qualifications
Passion for photographing people and events
Experience with live performance photography
Ability to collaborate and work effectively with others
Creative, and confident problem solver
Highly motivated, with a positive can-do attitude
